HOW WE IMPROVED THE QUALITY OF INJECTION MOULD PARTS
PROBLEMS FACED
Re-shoring of 20 mould tools and part assembly from a Low Cost Country where there had been quality problems. Our customer wanted to resolve the quality issues and rebuild trust in the product with its customer base.
SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEMS
The project involved assessment of the mould tools, sampling and then remedial / improvement actions to ensure the production of good parts. Development of Quality plans and full validation of all parts followed. Assembly workstations and fixtures were produced once MOST had been completed to determine the optimum assembly method and standard times. Following assembly trials and extensive testing and validation the parts went into production for product re-launch.
