OGM provides end-to-end contract manufacturing for plastic injection moulded components and assemblies: design for manufacture (DfM), tooling, moulding, assembly, validation and dispatch, all managed from two UK sites in Oxfordshire and South Wales. We work with OEMs and product developers across medical, electronics, industrial and utilities sectors, from single components to fully assembled products.
Bringing a product from design to production means coordinating tooling, moulding, assembly, quality validation and logistics – usually across several suppliers, each adding lead time and risk. OGM manages that whole process in-house, from initial design input through to finished, tested products ready to ship.
With over 60 years’ manufacturing experience across two UK sites – our Oxfordshire site, home to design, tooling and hybrid additive manufacturing, and our South Wales site, focused on volume production – we work with OEMs needing to scale existing production, and with product developers taking a new design from prototype to volume manufacture for the first time.
What's included
Design for manufacture (DfM)
Our in-house design team, based at our Oxfordshire innovation site, reviews part and tool designs using SOLIDWORKS and Moldflow simulation, identifying manufacturability issues before tooling is cut – reducing the risk of costly rework once a tool is in production.
Tooling
Our in-house toolroom, designs, builds, services and modifies mould tools on site, from soft prototype tooling through to fully hardened, multi-cavity, hot-runner production tools. Our hybrid metal additive manufacturing capability allows faster turnaround on complex tool inserts than conventional machining alone.
Injection moulding
Conventional injection moulding from machines ranging 35 to 1,100 tonnes, across more than 50 machines at our two sites, giving us the range to run everything from small precision components to larger mouldings.
Assembly
In-house component assembly, including automated assembly operations for higher-volume programmes, Class 7/10,000 cleanroom assembly for medical and electronics components requiring a controlled environment, and a dedicated ESD-controlled assembly area at our Oxfordshire site for static-sensitive electronic components.
Validation and quality
Quality control backed by advanced machine vision and metrology, working to ISO 9001:2015 (quality management), ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management) and ISO 13485:2016 (medical devices).
Logistics
Finished parts and assemblies are packed and dispatched directly from our Oxfordshire and South Wales sites, with delivery schedules coordinated against each customer’s production planning.
Please note: Our contract manufacturing service is built around plastic injection moulding not extrusion, blow moulding, thermoforming and vacuum forming.

OGM supports two distinct types of contract manufacturing customer:
- Established OEMs needing additional capacity during peak demand, a second-source supplier, access to capabilities (cleanroom assembly, ESD-controlled assembly, hybrid additive tooling) they don’t hold in-house, or a way to simplify their supply chain by consolidating multiple services under one partner rather than managing a fragmented supplier base.
- Product developers and startups moving from prototype to first production run, who need a partner able to guide DfM decisions as well as manufacture the finished part.

Proof: a real example
When an automotive customer’s mould tool failed and their original supplier quoted a 10-week lead time for a replacement part, OGM used its in-house hybrid metal additive manufacturing and tool-making capability to produce a new tool core in under four weeks.
