We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been crowned winners at the Plastics Industry Awards 2018 for Best Technology Application of the Year.
Paul Wightman, our Managing Director and Marcel Gowers our Metal AM Applications Engineering Manager were presented with the trophy by the Chief Executive of the Gauge and Toolmakers Association, Julia Moore and presenter of the evening, Brendan Cole at a gala dinner in London. The judges described our technology as an “impressive combination of capabilities”.
We’re the first and only company in the UK to be offering Hybrid Metal Additive Manufacturing and CNC Machining in conjunction with our Rapid Production Mould Tooling (RPMT) service. We’re combining this new innovative technology with traditional subtractive manufacturing techniques to produce UK manufactured P20 production mould tools and plastic components with lead-times starting from just four weeks.
Another advantage of our technology is that it allows us to repair or modify mould tool inserts, typically within 48 hours, instead of requiring 7-10 days. This minimises downtime while enabling customers to react faster to new market requirements.
“Receiving this award recognises the hard work in R&D that our team has undertaken in the past year and our ongoing investment in technology to give us a leadership position in this field and improve our manufacturing efficiency and levels of quality still further,” said Paul.
“It is recognition of the way the team have transformed the business into what it is today. I was extremely proud of their achievements as I collected the trophy.”
